December 2022 Feature Release

Following is the list of all the new components and latest features that we have added to the platform in December 2022 to help grow your business. Please contact us if you would like to know more about any of these new features.

Punch Out (Round Trip)

‘Punch Out’, sometimes called ‘Round Trip’ allows your large enterprise customers to order your products from within their procurement/supplier relationship management (ERP) system.

You can use your 360 Commerce website to create a custom catalogue of the products a customer has contracted to buy from you. This product catalogue is accessible from within their own ERP procurement system by punching out to your 360 Commerce eCommerce website.

  • Once they have punched out to the website, they will build a shopping cart of products that they want to order
  • When they have added everything to their cart that they wish to order, they will click on a button labelled ‘Return to Procurement’ and this will take them back to their procurement system along with a file containing all the items they placed in the cart.
  • The items will be transferred to their procurement system with the all the correct product codes and prices in a specified format which is usually a standard such as cXML.
  • Your customer would then place the order using their ERP procurement system which will have internal buying processes built in such approvals and other requirements.

Depending on their ERP procurement system, your customer’s order could come by email or directly into your ERP system via an integration or by EDI from your customer’s procurement system.

Benefits

  • Your large customers can benefit from a punch-out solution as it reduces the time expended procuring products when measured from order to receipt of goods including such tasks as approvals and the generation of purchase orders.
  • You will benefit from a punch-out solution as it will enable you to win and retain large customers.
  • The punch-out method offers a better user experience as it combines searching for products, ordering, order tracking and procurement processes into a simple flow that integrates the customer’s procurement system with your website.
  • Punch Out also enables a greater number of users to familiarize themselves with your product catalogue by allowing them to research products by starting within their own system.
  • Punch out also increases order accuracy as the customer is purchasing using their own ERP procurement system while your website displays the correct pricing to the customer plus other data such as product specifications and stock availability.

Other B2B e-commerce features
